Ricci first gained recognition as a child actor for her roles as Wednesday Addams and Addams Family Values (both 1993) in The Addams Family and as Kat Harvey, in Casper. Ricci changed roles into adult roles for the role of The Ice Storm (1997) and was then praised for her performance in The Opposite of Sex (2000) in which she received nominations for a Golden Globe for Best Actress. in 1999 she garnered praise by critics for her role as a character in Sleepy Hollow and Monster. Ricci played opposite Liam Neeson in Black Snake Moan (2007, Penelope 2008), Speed Racer (8, New York I Love You 2009) in addition to After.Life (9).
